Hybrid Ceramic Products

Hybrid ceramics have increased in popularity over the past few years.  Knowledge of their properties and benefits may be useful to the clinician.  They are permanent restorations boasting the advantages of both ceramic and polymer.

Hybrid ceramics are designed to absorb forces in the mouth.  Bonding is critical to their long-term success.

We offer only premium hybrid ceramic products, being:
  • VITA ENAMIC®; and
  • GC CERASMART®

Dual network hybrid ceramic
  • Hybrid material comprising of ceramic (~14%) and polymer (~86%) networks that exhibits tooth-like properties
  • 150-160MPa flexural strength / Weibull modulus: 20
  • Can absorb high intraoral load
  • Integrated crack stop function thanks to the dual-network structure
  • Base shades available: 0M1, 1M1, 1M2, 2M2 and 3M2
  • Can be enhanced in the lab with GC Opitglaze light-cured stains or polished

GC CERASMART®
Nano ceramic matrix structure hybrid
  • A permanent, force-absorbing flexible nano-ceramic matrix structure
  • 238MPa flexural strength
  • Hybrid material that combines the best characteristics of a high strength ceramic and a composite
  • Retains gloss over time and is self-polishing
  • Base shades available: BL, A1, A2, A3, A3.5 and B1—can be enhanced in the lab with GC Opitglaze light-cured stains or polished
